Our move has been postponed for a few days while some cleaning is done. It was supposed to be done earlier, but for various reasons wasn't. However, I have the keys and walked Kody over tonight. He was very excited by all the new smells and we played games and did tricks for treats in every room so he knows this is a fun place. He was very excited and loves it.
Do you remember being a kid and riding your bike way too far and then regretting it when you had to go back home again? That's what this was. We walked over to the new place which involved work with people and loose leash walking. Then we played for a while inside. Then we had to walk back which involved people and dogs and I just wanted to be home. It took forever.
I remember once some friends and I went to one of the friend's grandparents' house in the country. It was at least a couple of miles downhill on a country highway to get there. It was great fun coasting all the way there at dangerously high speeds. However, getting back would have been nearly impossible. Someone's Mom came and picked us and our bikes up.
In some ways this felt like that. I guess the solution would have been for me just to pick Kody up literally and walk home, but we took the time to do it the normal way.
