		<description>This is why I always show cute pictures of mixed breed dogs on this site. So many purebred dogs are bred poorly because physical traits are chosen over health traits. Even with their back issues, dachshunds are at this point one of the healthier breeds. But pugs, for instance, can&#039;t even breed without humans helping. 

I hope someday soon we start breeding cute dogs, but get less obsessed with the details so that we can have healthier dogs too. Of course, there are a lot of mixes out there, they&#039;re just not tracked as well was purebred dogs.</description>

		<description>We had a dog, on the farm, named Tootsie who lived to be 18+....she was a mongrel that looked like a collie.  She became blind and had to be put down.  This was a day and age when there were few vets, only those for the cattle.  Tootsie had several batches of puppies, as I recall 8 in one litter!  She was a good cattle dog and neighbors asked for her puppies.</description>
