50 Free Range Moo! Supreme Bully Sticks

When you order 50 bully sticks at a time from Amazon (via Dig It Pet Products) they come as a case with the packaging for retail. I just chose the number 50 because it was nice and round, I didn't know that was exactly how many were in the boxes they get.

Why would I order 50? The economy has been playing funny tricks with the price of pet products. I've noticed the prices of all pet products everywhere are going way up, sometimes even doubling. I used to by these bully sticks at an actual store, and I think they were about $5.50 each. But now, that same store has jacked the price up to $9.00. Seriously? $9.00 for a bully stick? Even online the price fluctuates. $3.99 (for the Free Range Moo! Supreme bully sticks, which last twice as long is the same company's next lower grade, Select) seems to be the lowest price and it's only available on Amazon. The seller's own website is oddly always more expensive even though their costs for selling it themselves should be lower. Anyway, when I see them at $3.99 I buy big because who knows when or if they'll be back to that price. As of this writing, they are $4.39 which is still a really great price.

The thing is bully sticks are like lattes for my dog, he really likes them, and he gets them often, but if the price goes up too much, it's over. As the price goes up, I quickly start buying less. Once they get higher that $5.50 I won't buy any at all. At $5.50 I would probably only buy them occasionally. I know bully sticks are probably pretty cheap to make and once they start charging a lot for them, it feels insulting.

If you’re going to order that many, you may want to look at a ‘wholesale’ website like petedge.com They have a $60 minimum order (I think?), but they have way lower prices than the stores. They are a really good deal if you can afford to buy lots of things at once. I’ve bought some stuff from them and everything seemed to go smoothly. I haven’t tried getting bully sticks for my two dachshunds. They seem to like those pork rawhide sticks. I may try these though. They sound good. I looked on petedge and they don’t have this brand, but they seem to have bully sticks by other companies.

I actually would like to find a wholesale way to buy them. I own my own business, so possibly I should be able to. I like this brand so maybe I’ll contact the company and see what their requirements are for ordering.

Try a bully stick, the great thing about them for dachshunds is that they last a long time and aren’t messy. Some of them smell a little though, these ones don’t. But the trick is you have to watch them and as they get down to about two inches trade your dog some other treat for the remainder of the bully stick. The dogs shouldn’t swallow the large piece that’s left. My dog is so used to this now he just starts ignoring the small pieces when they get near that size. I still trade for them to keep him doing that.
