I have almost exclusively moved to washing my sheets on the barf schedule. If Kody does barf he usually barfs at about 3am - 6am in the morning after he's digested most of his food and there's something left over that's not sitting right. This happens about once every one or two weeks and it's the almost the perfect schedule to change the sheets.
Last night was one of those nights. I used to get really stressed out when this would happen, but now I know the drill. Kody crawls out from under the covers and is heaving so I know what's going to happen. Last night he headed over to the other side of the bed, I moved the other pillow out of his way and petted him gently. Then I made sure he seemed to be done, rolled over, turned on the light and started the cleaning process involving paper towels and Nature's Miracle. My primary concern at this point is that the smell not keep me awake and the Nature's Miracle takes care of that.
This is one of those things I had to get used to as a dog owner. Occasionally you'll have to get up in the middle of the night to clean up barf. No point in complaining, it's just a fact of life. The next morning the sheets come off and the new ones go on.
