Today we had a couple of guests. Kody was really thrilled. The first guest, my friend Merry, is so good with dogs and totally knew just how to act around Kody. I knew she would be good, but I didn't know how good. She was amazing and seemed to totally get where Kody was and knew when she shouldn't even move her fingers. Before I knew it, she was actually petting him.
The whole time I had hot dog bits ready and Kody would get one if he went over and laid on his mat. He totally got it, but I've realized at this point he also has to satisfy his curiosity and that's fine.
Later, we had another guest, new to me and Kody, and Kody was excited again, but the guest tried to reach down too soon and freaked him out a little. Not to be distracted by this setback, Kody was ready to get to know her. Then the most amazing thing happened, Kody laid down on the couch next to me and went to sleep! That's amazing for Kody.
