Puppy Mill Thwarted in India

Thirty puppies huddled in eight tiny cages were rescued on Monday afternoon from a city-based dog breeder who was taking them to an animal fair in Bihar by bus.
Police said Manoj Basu, 32, violated rules governing animal transportation and was charged under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
This little Dachshund mix is pretty quiet, said to like kids and an overall sweetheart. She was brought to the shelter by her previous owners because they were moving and couldn't take her with them. So, of course, she is confused and misses having a family to love and call her own. Won't you help ease that confusion and take little Nala home?
Dachshunds in Car Accident Before Sioux Falls German Fest but Still Take 2nd Place

This article has just about the most confusing description of a car accident I could possibly imagine. But suffice it to say, surprisingly nobody was hurt and one of the dachshunds went on to take 2nd place in a race at German Fest.
Another dog may take over for Chanel as the current oldest dog. Now with a picture. Oh, and try to say the name of the location, it's quite a tongue twister.

Don't worry, I won't post any disturbing details on this site. There are more details and a lot more information about the new laws at the link. It's amazing that people could do absolutely atrocious things to a pet and get only a slap on the wrist. Things that would probably get them life imprisonment or worse had they done them to a human. I'm glad the laws are getting tougher on this, because as you might read, these people don't just hurt animals.

I love these stories about dogs being reunited with their owners against all odds. Microchipping really is a wonderful technology.
