If you really paid attention while watching the show you would know that Shorty makes it very clear that he is not a rescue with alot of space and kennels, but a good hearted person who is fighting for a breed of dog that is so misunderstood. His goal obviously is to educate people and find homes for unwanted pitbulls who otherwise may be put down. How can you criticize that! And then you comment on how he is just out for the green. Were all out there one way or another trying to live out the american dream. To each their own. Do you have a job? Love ya Shorty…

You make a good point, actually. The truth is that Animal Planet does a lot of cheesy stuff in the name of “entertainment” but you’re right that for people who are just getting started, there’s a lot there that’s useful.

Hey,
I appreciated your comments. It is always nice to get a different viewpoint. I just got a shelter dog and started watching the show as a result of us getting the dog.

My family–we love the show. For vieweres like me, it is educational, fun and touching. Though, you did make me question the grooming. In the end, is it more important to make people aware than to judge such small elements of the show. I don’t know. I am not knowledgable of such.

I do know that our shelter do is now a Wonderdog thanks to the show for educating my family. Try to watch the other shows. Don’t give up just because of one show. I think your insight is valuable. People like me need to understand different perspectives.

First of all it is “entertainment”. Second he rescues pit bulls, never said he had a facility. He works with volunteers, foster homes and other rescue organizations. The show is there to promote the breed and his business. As many media outlets have said “Animal Planet has hit the mother lode” with “Pit Boss”.

I saw Mr. Rossi at an event he did 2-3 years back when he stated he was trying to promote his shorty entertainment business with another “reality” show and it did not take off. Buuut add a dog or five and voila! Shorty’s Adventures is right. It is good to promote the breed, but I think this “rescue” is to make him greenbacks from his shortwood business.

Strike six: The employees are previous entertainment with no dog training! ; Do the research AP!

Great news all around! I know he can’t say it with words, but Kody knows that you helped him out of a painful situation.
We’ve used the CET chews from the vet before, and had OK results with them. Since Oskar is about 11 pounds, I’d buy the large size and could cut each one into 3 pieces, thus making them cost effective. The smaller size was easier on his tummy too, as he would sometimes vomit after too much CET. Not sure if it was the coating, but our pup has a tender digestive tract. They really didn’t keep his teeth cleaner either, but that may have been because he couldn’t handle the proper dose(?) of the material. I’m not sure. He just loves the baby bull sticks although I’m not sure that they do a thing to help keep his teeth clean. Perhaps we’ll need to do the entire cleaning process sooner than later.

I agree that the show comes off as fake, but I also disagree on some points. I think it’s entertaining for a lot of people who are not aware of Pitbulls other than what they hear form people and other media outlets, and maybe watching a show(Fake or Not) that shows pitbulls in a better light, then I don’t think it’s that bad. Although the show might be fake, the issue is actually real, and the message about pitbulls is still there. It’s sad that they allow it for ratings, but the higher the ratings, the more people watching will result in hopefully a more positive image on the issue.

Good Article though. By the way, I think the part that threw it off for me was when after the Dog Owner came up to him, Shorty was able to push him down to the ground, that was a little to much.
