The reason why I adopted a pit bull from the pound was because of Pit Boss. So, just because the show is fake, it doesn’t matter. It is accomplishing its purpose by putting pits in a positive light.

Our family attended this good ol’ hometown event with friends. What a great time we had!! Absolutely side-splitting and heart-warming to see these little guys “GO”!!

My son, aged 14 at the time, spoke at length with one of the event hosts from the SPCA/ Love at First Site organization. My son offered to make him/ the SPCA a commercial on the web to heighten the awareness and need of adopting a pet from the local shelter vs buying one from a breeder. He currently has over 81,000 hits on youtube and has turned any profits from the spot over to the SPCA of Texas.

If, you, too, would like to view his short commercial you can simply go to youtube and type in SPCA commercial—it is the 4th one down from the top
(Immediately after Sarah McLachlan’s professional spots!!) Not bad for a freshman in High school, eh?! Yeah, we’re pretty proud of him!

If you haven’t yet been to the Dachshund Races at Perini Ranch (Mr. and Mrs. Perini have several cherished dachshunds) I highly recommend it!! It is hilarious and you will meet a lot of very nice people along with their four legged-friends!!

Today I got some “big dog” biscuits to see how he would like them. They take a bit more chewing for Kody to get through, so at least it’s something. Also, since it’s food he tends to chew them fully rather than gulping down the pieces. I got healthy ones, but I need to check the calories to know how they will fit into his diet.

I enjoy the show very much and i think it’s a brave thing to do what Shory and crew are doing.You don’t have to be a little person to think big.This show is for the pit bulls,some comments that have been made are rude and i don’t see any of you helping,you’ll watch The real house wives of New Jersy,and whatever else.Yet those show nothing other than someone losing their shirt,and saving their own butts…This is a RESCUE that word alone says it…Keep up the great work..

On this weekends episode they rescued a pit bull from inside a vehicle that was being reposed by Luis Pizarro of the show fakest show ever “Operation Repo” Pitt Boss is a fraud!

Oh, and 2 of the girls are not as intelligent as u say. One of them is in fact an alcoholic who decided to make her best friend’s life a living hell, while the other is a narcissist who is too lazy to clean up after a 3-lb dog. I WISH it was the show not allowing them to clean it up, but it was in fact sheer laziness and the fact that there was poo on the wall for 2 months that actually brought the show into our house in the first place. Again, check urself before u open ur mouth for everyone to read.

Funny, that someone thinks they know what really went on behind the scenes w/o actually having a clue in the world (“Actually,” I’m talking to you). This character, Susan, did NOT get “kicked out” of the house before filming; she was there the entire time suffering through it all and decided to leave 2 weeks before the followup because it got too bad. After the followup, the other 2 girls were evicted from the house, and their little dogs too. Susan still rents the house and manages it from Las Vegas. I know these things b/c, oh wait, I AM SUSAN. Get your facts straight before u go online w them please. And bad tv u say? Try actually being a part of it and having someone emotionally tortue and berate u on national television. Crying ur eyes out for the country to see is not my idea of a good time.

I just received an estimate to do a root canal on my german shepards front canine tooth which will be between 900 and 1000. I live in New York. The procedure does not include a cap. The cost of anesthesia is a big part of this cost, roughly 450 of the 900. For a smaller dog this would be less.

It was both hard and easy. It was easy in the fact that we didn’t have many accidents, it was hard because the rule of good potty training is “constant vigilance.”

If you’re puppy has an accident, you’ll notice something, you weren’t watching him when he did. Why not? You should have been.

I used puppy gates to control where Kody went, especially at first he was confined in with me all the time so I could watch him. I used puppy pads until Kody was comfortable going outside all the time, which takes a while.

When I got up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, he got placed on a puppy pad to go potty.

What’s hardest about potty training is accepting that your life has now changed and it’s almost like having a baby. If you are always aware of what your puppy is doing, potty training is “easy” in that you’ll be successful, but “hard” in that you have to track your puppy 24/7.

I love watching Pit Boss. I am an animal lover and admire Shorty Rossi’s dedication to pit bulls, a much maligned dog breed…… unjustly so.

As for the comments about the show being fake, what reality show does not have staged scenes? Just watch “The Bachelor”,the “Kardashians” etc.

With regard to “Pitbulls and Parolees , I find it hard to watch because I can’t bear to see animals suffering so much.

Quite frankly, “Pit Boss” is the main reason I tune in to Animal Planet these days.

I fell in love with this show a few months ago and figured out pretty quickly, like most so called “reality” shows, it had to be staged. I don’t care. It’s funny. It’s about grace. Shorty’s people love him even though he can be an asshole. He loves his people and his dogs. Probably isn’t a good idea to have him breaking into houses to “rescue” the dogs because there are probably some people who don’t realize this is not real and needs to be seen as a sit com. Still rather watch this than most of the crap on TV

Re: Mexico episode. Bad bad acting-Dominico’s missing, and then you see Shorty and crew running through tropical brush in all directions as if they are on a bounty hunt. Mmm, very similar to Dog the Bounty Hunter. Guess Shorty thought if that technique got Dog ratings while “chasing” bail jumpers, it would get him ratings while “chasing” down his missing pit bull.
Pretty much Ronald’s nervous “acting” give the show away as fake. When he is reading a script or performing in the show, it is the same bad acting. Shorty also sounds so fake and performs his scripted lines just like Ronald. Who shows up to an orphanage with lots of stray dogs and donates donates ONE cheapo 20 lb bag of dog food?
And, Shorty’s negative and wanna-be a bad ass attitude is such a downer. Shame on Animal Planet for promoting such a show that really hasn’t benefited any dogs, from what I have seen.

Did anyone see the episode where “Domenico” supposedly runs away from Shorty’s vacation home in Mexico?
Domenico wasn’t even in the car on the way down. Only Hercules, Geisha, and Valentino are shown. And that’s only one of many bloopers I’ve seen on the show. So sad that they have to make up these kind of scenarios to sell a show.

It’s from early 2010, so it should be fairly current. However, it does totally depend on the dog and the actual tooth. You’re probably getting high estimates at least until they can see the dog, but that’s just a guess.
