This new place is great in many ways, but Kody has some adjustments to make. In the old place our deck was on the second floor, so only the occasional squirrel would show up. But here, we have a great big sliding door and a big patio then a small yard, then the water. It isn’t fenced so all sorts of critters hang out outside. Cats will just sit and look in at Kody. Squirrels just naturally go about their business and frolic together. Even people will sometimes walk by.

At this point, Kody always spends at least a half hour just softly growling at whatever is or was outside. It’s much better than the initial barking, though. I kind of feel bad for him, he’s going through some sort of growing pains and adjustments. But I think it will be very good for him, once he’s used to it.
