I am a big fan of bully sticks, I tried bones, but soon found them to have too much risk of tooth breakage. But bully sticks have never done me wrong. I’ve been through many brands and have found what I think is the best one. The Free Range “Moo!” 12″ Supreme Bully Sticks.

Here’s what’s so great about them. First of all, they don’t smell. The other brands have quite a strong and unpleasant odor. These really don’t smell at all. Your dog can chew and kiss you and his breath is actually fresher!

Second, Free Range has different grades of bully sticks, and the Supreme grade lasts for ever. They have a Monster grade now too, but I haven’t used those. I can take one bully stick and make it last two days. It would probably last one day if I gave it in the morning and never took it away, but it would he would still be working on it when it was time to go to bed.

These are great for dachshunds. I don’t know if all dogs are like this, but Kody is a massive chewer. It’s hard to find anything that lasts a while, is economical, and safe. But these bully sticks are.

I write about these all the time, but I still want to warn that you need to supervise enough to take the bully stick away with about about 1.5 to 2 inches left. While Kody has swallowed that last piece (probably 0.5 inches) and was fine, I wouldn’t want to take that chance on purpose. You want to take it away at a length where they can’t swallow it, because if it’s small enough to swallow and you come looking for it, unless you have the your dog so well trained they will drop food out of their mouth on command, they are going to swallow it rather than give it to you. They LOVE them. Kody is pretty good about trading for that last bit now, but at first these are like heaven to them.

This Amazon price is great to, it’s at least $2.00 cheaper per bully stick than in a store, probably more. And I go through at least one a week. That’s at least $8.00 saved per month! And one more tip, I made the mistake of getting the 6″ sticks for while. It’s better to get the longer ones and take it away and give it back later. The 6″ ones don’t leave much room to chew before you have to take it away so you end up wasting more.

Amazon: “Moo!” 12″ Supreme Bully Sticks
